Successful Living With Purpose
“Natural Yearning”?
Ever heard of it?
Do you think it’s accurate to say that a “natural yearning” is the primal instinct of what drives people.
One challenge of success is actually changing behavior. A natural yearning can be the catalyst to that change.
What is it that you could get excited about and see yourself doing for the rest of your life?
Lucky People… Really?
Successful Living: The Lucky People
There’s nothing wrong with a little luck. Many people have benefited by being in the right place at the right time. It makes sense to take advantage of every break that comes your way.
But people who depend solely on luck to get ahead are bound to be disappointed. In the long run, they will find that the breaks tend to even out. We all get our share of the good and bad.
Can you improve the odds in your favor? Sure. How? By working hard to make your own breaks. No matter what the job, successful people will tell you that they generated their own luck by making the effort that created opportunities and then taking advantage of their chances.
Think about it. If you were considering someone for a promotion, would you pick someone who put 100% into the present job and was willing to learn all about it, or someone who sat back and waited for a lucky break?

Probably not! That’s exactly what happened to Horace Jenkins. Horace Jenkins always dreamed of playing in the NBA. At 11 years old he even told his mom he would play in the NBA some day. A few years ago, at 30 years old, Jenkins was the oldest rookie in the leagues history.
But how he got there isn’t the typical story you hear on Sports Center.
40 Years of Life Lessons
Successful Living: 40 Years of Life Lessons
It is my birthday today, March 1. I have taken a little while to reflect on my 40 years. I’ve still got some reflecting to do that will help me engage and take more control of my life. But the following are 40 lessons I’ve taken from my past 40 years. They are taken and presented in a way that is based on my principles and views. My hope is you can find some wisdom in these. At the very least I hope you find it entertaining.
Blessings,
Mark
