The Life Lesson Mindset Someone who has a successful living mindset has a way of thinking that is not normal, natural or even necessary. It's not normal because normal is the status quo. This mindset is abnormal because it sets the successful person apart from the normal status quo because they want more for their life and family. This successful living mindset is not natural in the sense of what we've been made to think through all the marketing and media. We've been exposed to a ton a marketing messages every day through various medians. Think about it. One marketing message that has become so prominent is debt. The average American now believes that debt is part of a good financial plan. The truth is, to become wealthy - financially - debt is the absolute enemy. If you were to study, even the average millionaire, you would find that they have little to no debt. We've just been so successfully marketed to, we are knocking down the doors to the banks and other lending institutions, begging them to sign us up for their product - debt. This successful living mindset is really not necessary to live. However, with it, your existence will be an average, mediocre life. If that's the kind of life you're after, then you won't have use for this mindset at all. But if you're after an over-the-top, no holds barred, all out type of lifestyle, this simple little mindset practice will take you down that road. It's called a Life-Lesson-Mindset. For example: I recently bought (100%) a new bass boat. I've taken my oldest (14) out on it fishing 6 times. In those 6 times, we've caught a total of 3 fish. Now the normal, natural mindset would say, "That was a complete waste of time. You should sell that boat now." or "We wasted 6 days and accomplished absolutely nothing." Well, I try not to think that way. The way I see it is, I had 6 full days with my son to create memories that will last a lifetime. We'll look back for decades talking about the times we went out fishing catching nothing but a sunburn. We'll talk about the time the boat was leaking oil in the river and we had to pull it out, take it back to the dealer only to find out how bad we flooded it. Those are little life lessons. Their precious. They're fulfilling. They're gold. Don't miss them. They happen every day. Mark Thompson |
