A Motivational

FEATURE ARTICLE:
Motivation |
Motivation is a simple thing. What
motivates you? Love? Power? Money? Success?
Whatever motivates you, think about this
question. Do you want to really be
motivated? Here's what I mean.
Think about your last diet. Or think
about the last time you decided to
get-in-shape. Now think, how long did that
motivation last? Now think again. Is it
motivation that you want?
We're coming up on the "New Years
Resolution" season. This year I am not going
to list my resolutions in order to motivate.
I am, however, going to make a list of life
changes to help me come alive in 2005.
"Come Alive in 2005!" hmmm. Maybe too
cheesy...
The point is to NOT try and motivate. But
DO have a "stick-to-it" plan. A plan is much
more powerful than some temporary
motivational list that doesn't stand the
test of time.
Don't get me wrong. I am not against
motivation. In fact, I am a huge fan of it.
I implement it in my life all the time. It's
a great tool to start your long term plans.
I'm just saying do not rely on it to get you
to the end of the year on your new year's
resolution.
I will be evaluating my plan much more
intensively as the new year gets closer. I hope you
will too. But, as far as motivation, it will
only serve to get me started on my long-term
life changing plan.
Just remember:
Motivation = Short Term or Short Lasting
Plan = Long Term or Long Lasting
Keep me posted on your progress, ideas
and successes.
Keep looking and living forward.
